IDEAS engaged with schools across London, to support
teachers and students in genetics education. Our focus was on both
the science of genetics, and the social and ethical implications
of genetics advances.
Our programme
for schools was run by Dr Gail Davies, a lecturer
and a qualified teacher with experience of genetics education in
schools and higher education.
New teaching materials for
our "Genetics into schools" initiative, including
games and practicals, were developed and piloted across a small
number of schools, before general release. They will soon be available in "classroom friendly" format on the Institute of Biology website. |
