Introduction
The course begins with a half
day session on communication skills on Thursday 18th August and is then
held for one day a month between September 2005 and March 2006. There
is an addtional session in April 2005 for those participants sitting the
practical examination. Sessions are held at the Institute of Child Health,
Great Ormond St Hospital, London
Each day will consist of two
themed sessions facilitated by London IDEAS staff and guest facilitators
from the molecular genetics community. All participants will be required
to produce a short presentation on a given topic together with handouts
for each session of the course. These will be discussed within the session. The
course will be supported by electronic distance learning methods. 12 students
are registered on the course prior to sitting the MRCPath Part 1 exam.
