ABOUT LONDON IDEAS

LONDON IDEAS LOGOLondon IDEAS was one of a network of six genetics knowledge parks in the UK, directly funded by grants from the Department of Health and the Department of Trade and Industry.

The role of the network is overviewed in the Department of Health genetics White Paper.

London IDEAS was a consortium of University College London, the Institute of Child Health, Imperial College London, the medical schools at St. George’s and UCL Hospitals, NHS partners at Northwick Park and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, and the Genetic Interest Group.

Although the initial funding has ended, the framework of organisations continues and it will continue to support many of the London IDEAS initiatives into the future.

The London IDEAS grant ran from 1 August 2002 to 31 July 2007 (with an additional 6 months to wrap-up final spending plans).

The other genetics knowledge parks in the network are:

Cambridge Genetics Knowledge Park
Life Knowledge Park
Nowgen
Oxford Genetics Knowledge Park
The Wales Gene Park
